Her passion is plant forms, which she represents in figurative and imaginary ways, currently using 3D images mounted in frames. These soft sculptures are created initially with silk screen or mono prints, and dyed fabrics which are then embellished with hand and machine embroidery.
She creates cyanotype prints of plants in the sunny climate of the South of France, where she works in the summer. She also loves to create natural plant like images using machine embroidery on soluble fabrics with colour and texture.
Carole integrates various disciplines to produce works inspired by local flora and landscape, mostly in southern France. She is attracted to exotic plant forms as a result of her early years spent in the Caribbean, and is intent on representing a wider range of tropical plants as soft sculptures.
"Creativity is intelligence having fun."
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
"The difference between science and the arts is not that they are different sides of the same coin, or even different parts of the same continuum, but rather, they are manifestations of the same thing. The arts and sciences are avatars of human creativity."
